Mentorship

YWE is committed to strengthening the leadership of girls and young women through training on six key themes:

  1. Human rights and gender equality (including women's rights)

  2. Feminism

  3. Sexual and reproductive health rights

  4. Leadership and mentoring

  5. Self-esteem

  6. Sexual and gender-based violence

Mentorship is at the heart of this program, offering guidance, support, and inspiration. It fosters personal growth, builds confidence, and creates opportunities for valuable connections. Mentors, including YWE staff and Board members, provide feedback, share knowledge, and help mentees develop leadership skills. Through regular group and one-on-one sessions, mentees gain perspective, resilience, and critical thinking.

With a democratically elected leader guiding the cohort each year, this mentorship empowers young women to overcome barriers and thrive as leaders in their communities. By investing in mentorship, we create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
